Israelite Featured in Bucknell Alumni Magazine

The Institute’s Director of Victim Services, Marie Martinez Israelite, was featured in the spring issue of Bucknell University’s alumni magazine. Israelite, who graduated from Bucknell in 2000, has worked in a variety of capacities where she honed she expertise in victims services work.

In her role at the Institute, Israelite is responsible for developing partnerships between our partner countries (Belize and Uganda) and service providers to use trauma-informed approaches to better respond to survivors in all stages of their journey.

“Our work is part of a broader effort to transform how the criminal-justice system treats human trafficking victims and improve their experiences when they participate as witnesses,” explained Israelite. “Victims’ testimony is often critical for the successful prosecution of traffickers.”
